I’ve been looking into eye masks and patches recently after my good chinguu’s suggestion! I went around looking for different brands that had these magical things, as I heard they help reduce dark circles and eye bags. Since Aberdeen recently opened a Nature Republic, that was one of the first places that I went to.
Nature Republic has two eye patches, the Aqua Collagen Solution Marine Hydrogel Eye Patch and the Snail Solution Hydrogel Eye Patch. The sales associate suggested that the Aqua Collagen would work better for me since the Snail Solution is for more mature skin and focuses more on reducing wrinkles around the eyes rather than hydrating them.

As you can see, you can’t really tell if there is actually an eye patch there or not. Seriously, even when I opened it, it was so gel-like and see-through that I couldn’t tell until I poked it. I was surprised, because I thought it would be a lot more watery, with more essence. I think I might have been trying on way too many masks ; u ;||.
I wish they packed the product in a way where it was easier to take it out without fearing that I would drop it on the floor. Also, if they had a place were you could put your fingers to grab the eye patch easier that would make it better too! I had a bit of difficulty trying to pick it out of the mould – I didn’t really enjoy constantly poking at it to get it out.
Maybe my eyes are too small, but I don’t think it fit me well. I tried to put the bigger part closer to my inner part of the eye, but it didn’t fit the rest of my eye. When I put it too close to the eye (well, I imagined that it was supposed to go straight under my eyes – but I think it’s supposed to be below the aegyo-sal), it felt like there’s this giant piece of hard jello whenever I blinked. BUT! Discomforts aside, it did feel refreshing and hydrating to my eye bags.
I do think it lightened my dark circles slightly but it wasn’t drastic, and made my eye wrinkles (which can’t be seen unless I have some incredibly HD camera) look less apparent. The next morning, I checked again to see if it was long-lasting or not and I have to say it did work a bit. I think in order for me to see the effects, I’d have to use them for a few days in a row. But for a one time use, it was really hard to see a huuuuge difference.
PS – My face after I realized that I forgot to refrigerate them before putting them on.
PPS – The sales associate told me it was only a one-time use product. However, I just read on the Nature Republic site that this product can be used up to five times, which made me angry and sad that I threw it out after only one use. I’m not really sure how I would store it after one use though, since after you rip out the back of the packaging the product is pretty much exposed to oxygen.
