Dry Lips?? Ever Tried a Lip Sleeping Mask?

Do you have incredibly dry and flaky, pale lips.. like me? If you do, don’t worry! There are great things out there that solve that problem! You can use lip scrubs, lip balms, Vaseline, etc. But have you ever heard of a lip mask?? When I became super hooked on Laneige products, I heard great things, and I mean GREAT, about their lip sleeping mask. I didn’t expect to be able to find it in Canada, but luckily they had it in Aberdeen at Aritaum! And I did something any beauty addict would do – I splurged.

Laneige is a relatively higher end brand compared to other ones, so its products are on the more expensive side. Their products are usually scented, but it’s quite a nice smell so I don’t mind it. They just somehow make their products smell soooo good.

Disclaimer: This product was purchased with my own money and I am not being paid to write this. My review, images, impressions and thoughts are all my own, unless stated otherwise. While this product may or may not have worked for my skin, it may or may not work for yours – remember, your mileage may vary (YMMV)!

$20CAD (I bought it from ARITAUM in ABERDEEN CENTRE)

The Good

Fun to use, comes with spatula, really hydrates lips, results are long lasting, love the packaging

The Bad

Can’t drink water after applying it (not really a con, but yea), some of you might find the scent to strong

Will I buy it again

A resounding YES! Though it’s a little pricey, it does come with a lot – I don’t use it every day so it can probably last me quite a while??

What does this product come with? Like most of us would wish for – A SPATULA. Yes. SPATULA for your lip mask. It’s soft plastic, and when you apply the mask, this spatula just lets the product slide on your lips. It’s so easy to use and sanitary too! I love how it comes in its own little pouch. I swear the spatula is the best part of this mask. You don’t lose any product that you normally would from a Qtip. The product comes in their typical mask jar – it’s a clean design,  and sturdy (don’t try to drop it too many times, but the jar is thick enough to withstand a few drops – maybe).

I realized that when you apply this mask, for the first 30 minutes or so – you need to make sure that you’re not gonna brush your teeth, drink water, or do anything with your mouth that requires your lips to make contact with another surface. It’s really watery at first, so you need to let it set before you go on and do your lip related activities. I applied mine, realized I wanted water, but couldn’t really drink it because it’s so watery. I repeat – DO EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO THAT REQUIRES LIPS TO MAKE CONTACT BEFORE YOU APPLY!

You might wonder, is this a gimmicky product? I would think it is if I hadn’t tried it. I really would. Some of you might not believe me, so here is PROOOF!

Is that crazy or what. My lips were so dry before apply the mask, but after one application – it looks more hydrated and healthy! It also looks less dry around the edges and in the morning my lips definitely felt moisturised. I couldn’t believe it so licked them a couple times just to make sure. There were no dead skin on my lips. Whaaaaat??? Isn’t that amazing! I thought it was. This product reaffirmed why I love Laneige so much. I mean, it’s been a whole day and my lips are still as hydrated as they were this morning.
