This review, has been sitting in my ‘drafts’ for probably half a year already. I’ve had struggles with this because on some days I would ADORE this product, and then a bit later my mind would flip and I would think HM, BUT DO I REALLY? And with that happening for a while, I just can’t write anything about it. But, I’m passed that now. I’ve made a decision. BB Creams were all the rage a few years ago. I remember when I got my first tube of BB Cream from a sales lady in SASA – she recommended this one by BRTC, which I used for longer than I should’ve.. o_o!
My Shy Boss is long over, and I probably should’ve done this much earlier.. but I didn’t realise how long making these take! What I really enjoy about watching Korean Dramas, is too see what is currently trendy in South Korea in terms of fashion and makeup. My Shy Boss was a really cute and comedic drama that has pretty sad twist to it – if you have time, I’d give this one a try. It wasn’t amazing, not the kind that you’d wait week to week for, but still a good light drama to watch during your spare time! The inspired look that I will be doing today is from the main female character of My Shy Boss, Chae Ro Woon. I’m no MUA, so let’s see what I come up with haha.
A few weeks ago, I went to Korea for the first time – mainly to shop, but also sight-see and go to some main touristy destinations. At first, I had planned to buy as much as I could when I got there, but I realised how unrealistic that was because there is no way that I’m going to be able to find everything that I want, let alone being able to use everything up before they expire. So I made a list of brands that I knew I wanted and had to absolutely get, and looked at where I could buy them. Before Korea, I was in Hong Kong for a bit, so I hit up a few shops there to do some price comparisons before I headed to Korea so I knew where to buy what I wanted.
Etude House always comes out with super cute and adorable products – these eye shadows are not an exception. The Eye Shadow line is called “Look at My Eyes” and has several variants in this line (Look at My Eyes Cafe etc). When I was in HK, I bought these shades because I didn’t want it to look like I had makeup on, but at the same time I wanted it to make my eyes look more awake, alive basically, and slightly bigger (with that aegyo sal thing – which btw, I can never seem to do). Anyways, I only picked out a few because well, although I didn’t have any of my palettes when I was there, I didn’t want to add to my collection of things o_o||. So I picked really neutral colours, nothing fancy – but really practical and good for everyday use :).
KDrama..addiction is what I would describe what I am currently going through right now. December&January were such exciting months for Korean Drama, what with Lee Sung Kyung & Nam Joo Hyuk Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo and Gong Yoo & Kim Go Eun in Goblin. Yes, yes Lee Min Ho fans, I know he had a drama too! But I haven’t started watching that one yet.. Anyways, I loooved Lee Sung Kyung’s Kim Bok-Joo makeup in the drama. It was cute, youthful yet natural in a way (which is what most female leads have for makeup anyways). So I figured I’d try to do a thing.
It’s been a while since I’ve done a review of a makeup product.. hehe I’ve been way to focused on my skin lately that I haven’t been using as much makeup as I’d like. Anyways, today’s product is from Etude House, the master of extremely and incredible cute products. The product in question? Their Dear Darling Water Tint, which is lip tint that I got from the September Bomibox. I did a review on a two different lip tints that I got from Megan’s KBox a while back, if you’re interested in checking them out I’ll leave the links here. (Berrisom, PONGDANG)
Update (April 27, 2017): I’m updating my review on this because after a couple months of using it back and forth with the MISSHA sunscreen, I’ve gotten a better grasp at which one I like more. Also, turns out that they’ve revamped the formula and released a new version – if I can get my hands on the new one, I’ll see if I can do a comparison.
Update (May 5, 2017): Okay, so I’m giving it a try in incredibly humid weather in Hong Kong, and I am not having any issues with the application. I’m concluding that this sunscreen is only good when the weather is humid (if you want unpatchy application) as opposed to dry weather.
No matter how much of a bother it seems, putting on sunscreen everyday RAIN or SHINE is important to protect your skin from those scary UV rays. However, it is always a struggle to find that just right sunscreen for your skin. Early September, WISHTREND was looking for 20 beauty testers for a new product – the Klairs Mid-day Blue Sun Lotion, and I was selected as one of them! I got my product late October (because of the shipping woes between Korea & Canada – but it’s all good now!), and have been testing it for the past couple of weeks. My review is definitely way way way later than probably the other 99% of the testers for this product.. (how typical of me), but it’s here now! Will it be the sunscreen that I’ve been looking for?
